WRITTEN BY Maki Team
The Maki team has been expanding during this busy spring, with Tim Bolte joining as our Venture Partner, Jani Puroranta stepping in as our newest Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and Ella Eskelinen taking on the role of Analyst – as we also plan to expand our investment horizons.
Transitioning from his tenure as Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Tim Bolte is stepping into the role of Venture Partner at Maki. With a background in tech startups and prior experience as an angel investor, Tim brings invaluable insights and a deep-rooted understanding of early-stage founders' needs. With over 20 years of experience in the B2B software industry in various leadership positions, Tim further strengthens our commitment to fostering B2B SaaS startups, especially in Northern Europe.

Jani Puroranta joins Maki as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence, following a career spanning startups to global corporations. His journey ranging from Chief Digital Officer at a global mining technology company Metso to the CEO of SaaS startup Alekstra highlights his versatility and expertise across various sectors. Jani's extensive experience in process industries, consulting, wholesales, and early-stage fintech – before it was known as such – is a valuable asset to our portfolio companies, aiding them in overcoming growth challenges.
Jani Puroranta
Tim and Jani’s appointments closely follow Ella Eskelinen’s, who joins the team as an Analyst after graduating from Maki's internship program in 2023. Ella has a master's degree from the Copenhagen Business School, and before Maki, she gained valuable experience from working at the B2B SaaS company Happeo in Amsterdam. She’s currently covering Sweden and will strengthen our position, especially in the Nordics.
Ella Eskelinen
Their appointments bolster our resources and reach in supporting startups, and our commitment to guiding European startup founders through the complexities of early-stage growth and beyond.
Once again, welcome to the Maki team Tim, Jani, and Ella!
