“Moving full speed with Maki” – introducing 3 new team members

We’re thrilled to start this fall chapter by welcoming three new members to the Maki House: Caroline, Irina and Petra.

Caroline Gattner joins Maki.vc as an analyst. Since relocating to Helsinki in 2021, she has really enjoyed the Nordic vibe. She has experience from both the VC and startup sides of the table, having previously worked at the Finnish VC-fund Icebreaker as well as the fintech Stocard. At Maki.vc, she will focus especially on fintech, enterprise software and deep-tech – so founders, don’t hesitate to reach out.

“Maki.vc’s portfolio is a unique combination of deeply technical and brand-driven companies. We are not afraid to invest in difficult and sometimes overlooked solutions, and I think that’s key if you want to solve the world’s most crucial problems. I'm excited to get to work with the founders and can't wait to meet new startups across Europe,” says Caroline.

Irina Kolesnikova joins Maki.vc as a business controller. She has previously worked at the consulting company Deloitte, and construction company YIT, and holds a Master’s degree from Aalto University. At Maki.vc, Irina will take on Maki’s finance management and fund reporting – the backbone of our fund's finances.

“I'm excited to join Maki.vc! From day one, this team has proven to be a dynamic, fast-moving group of people. I'm glad to serve as the reliable and precise money-manager who won't cut corners even in a perfect storm,” says Irina.

Finally, Petra Koivuvaara joins Maki.vc as an analyst to strengthen our market insight arm and dealflow analysis. She is no stranger to Maki House as she first joined us in spring 2021 as an intern, and now will be mapping the ecosystem as a full-time analyst.

Petra has previously worked at Howspace. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in the United States where she also played soccer, and she is currently finishing her double Master’s degree in Accounting and CEMS MIM from Aalto University School of Business and ESADE in Spain.

“I couldn't be more thrilled to move at full speed with Maki again! I’m excited to get to work with our amazing portfolio companies and of course meet inspirational founders from the European ecosystem. I want to keep learning especially about the industries with the most impact, such as climate tech or femtech,” Petra says.
