Meet our new Head of Comms, Jani Hellström

We’re excited to share that Jani Hellström has joined Maki.vc as our new Head of Communications.

Jani brings more than a decade of experience building and scaling communications in fast-growing technology companies. He joins Maki from local commerce platform Wolt, where he spent six years in senior global communications leadership roles. At Wolt, Jani played a key role in scaling the company’s communications across geographies and business areas. Most recently, he led the company’s merchant communications across more than 30 markets and supported Wolt’s transition into DoorDash following the €7 billion acquisition that closed in 2022.

Before Wolt, Jani led communications at global technology consultancy Reaktor, working on e.g. New Space, robotics, AI, and defense and security, and worked with Reaktor Ventures supporting early-stage companies. His background combines over a decade of hands-on experience across startups, scale-ups, and venture-backed companies.

As our new Head of Communications at Maki, Jani leads our communications, marketing, and stakeholder relations, while also working closely with our portfolio companies as they scale across markets. You can reach him at jani@maki.vc.
